(New Year Message)
Dear readers of the Diplomacy Journal,

On the behalf of the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, I would like to extend my congratulations to the people and Government of the Republic of Korea on this New Year. I also wish everyone and their families joy, success, a life that is safe and peaceful, and the ability to realize their aspirations.

I hope that this year will bring happiness to our two nations and that all of dreams will come true in the upcoming year. It became a nice custom to reflect on the last year's events on New Year, assess accomplishments in light of past experiences, and set goals for the future with hope, faith, and optimism.

Korea achieved significant diplomatic success in the international arena in 2023. 2023 has also been special year for the Ethiopia and the republic of Korea’s history since the year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Ethiopia.

Therefore, it is possible to say that Ethiopia and the Republic of Korea have had lasting friendly diplomatic relations for a long time as of this year. In light of this, I would like to pledge that the cordial diplomatic ties between our two nations, which are founded on shared interests, solidarity and friendship, will only get stronger.

Once again, I would like to express my wish for the government and people of the Republic of Korea to advance and flourish a success in all political and economic spheres and that the Korean Peninsula will remain peaceful, secure, and stable.
