Belarus Embassy holds luncheon dedicated to 105th Anniversary of Diplomatic Service

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus Chernetsky gives a welcoming speech

시민행정신문 이존영 기자 | A special event dedicated to the 105th Anniversary of the founding of the modern Belarusian Diplomatic Service was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea on March 25.

 

The meeting was attended by invited guests from among the representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps, cultural and media circles of the Republic of Korea. 

 

 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Andrew Chernetsky addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. 

 

At the suggestion of the head of Belarusian foreign mission, the event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack that took place on March 22, 2024 in “Crocus City Hall” in Moscow. 

 

 

In his speech, Ambassador noted the great path that the Belarusian diplomatic service has traveled since its foundation, the important role of diplomacy in today's geopolitical conditions, also referred to the history of Belarus – Korea diplomatic relations, as well as stressed the importance of dialogue between all countries and joint efforts in solving global challenges of our time. 

 

During the meeting guests were shown a presentation on the most significant steps in the development of the diplomatic service of Belarus, the successes and achievements of Belarusian diplomats on the world stage and via the platforms of international organizations. 

 

The invited persons were also able to get acquainted with the photo exhibition “105 years of the modern Belarusian Diplomatic service” and take part in a tasting of traditional dishes of the national cuisine of Belarus.

 

In a separate move, Cultural Editor Lee Mi-hyoung of Diplomacy Journal, also professor of Myongji University, presented her folk painting work depicting cranes to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Korea Andrew Chernetsky as a means of promoting bilateral relations between Diplomacy Journal and the Embassy of Belarus.
