Embassy of Azerbaijan holds “Art of cultural diplomacy” exhibition

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Seoul held the “Art of cultural diplomacy” exhibition at Yongsan Art Hall in Seoul on Nov. 15.

 


Eight Azerbaijani young artists, including Aydan Mammadova, introduced their paintings to Korean artists and general people at the exhibition.


Among the foreign and domestic guests attending the exhibition, Ambassador Salih Murat Tamer of Turkiye, Amb. Andrew Chernetsky of Belarus, and Kim Sun-su, vice mayor of Yongsan-gu.

 


Delivering a congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Amb. Ramin M. Hasanov, said, “Today we are here to celebrate a crucial occasion of the centennial anniversary of the national leaders of Azerbaijan based on the respective order signed by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan.


“As political and social stability was ensured, main principles of human rights and freedoms were enforced. Economic progress was promoted in the country and Azerbaijan excelled as democratic, legal and secular state.”

 


Noting that Azerbaijan is one of the most ancient sites of human civilization,Amb. Hasanov said, “Azerbaijan's culture and history embrace the elements of many civilizations, religions and specific features. Azerbaijan has gained an international reputation of being a vital bridge between civilizations and a unique place for multiculturalism, hospitality and tolerance.


“For many centuries the country has been well known as one of the cultural hubs of the world. In this context, Azerbaijan attaches high importance to promoting the country's culture and art on a global scale. The significant role of Azerbaijan foundation should be highlighted in this regard.”

 


He said that the various international projects implemented by the foundation differ in terms of benevolence, humanism and goodwill. The goal of these projects is to link the interesting points of various cultures and foster peaceful coexistence.


Amb. Hasanov added, “Since 2010, the center has been holding exhibitions of the young artists abroad to introduce Azerbaijani culture and arts for cultural dialogue and mutual understanding. So far, the center has organized exhibitions in 16 countries, and this time, we are welcoming the Azerbaijani artists.”
